“the cracks are how the light gets in” features a river of pinks and purples flowing upwards, and was inspired by Leonard Cohen’s lyric: “there is a crack, a crack in everything / That's how the light gets in”; and also the wisdom of Rumi: “the wound is the place where the light enters”. The original artwork has chunks of broken glass disrupting and directing the flow of colour.
The artwork is on A4 watercolour paper and presented in a black box frame to allow space for the broken glass details.
